Turkish baklava that melts in your mouth: an oriental delight at home

Among all the oriental delicacies, baklava is the most favorite. Delicious, juicy and crispy at the same time - it just melts in your mouth. It is not difficult to make it at home. In this case, the dessert should be based on ready-made phyllo dough, as well as delicious syrup and fragrant nuts.

Food blogger Valentyna Sayenko (valya__saenko) shared a recipe for Turkish baklava with nuts on her Instagram page.

Ingredients:

  • phyllo dough - 400 g
  • nuts - 300
  • butter - 150 g
  • sugar - 500 g
  • water - 300 g
  • juice of 1\2 lemon
  • cinnamon, cardamom

Method of preparation:

1. First, prepare some ingredients: peel and whip the nuts in a blender, melt the butter.

2. Then proceed to work with the dough. Cut it out according to the size of the mold. Divide it into two parts.

3. Form the baklava. To do this, grease the mold with oil. Lay out the dough sheets from the first part, brushing each sheet with melted butter.

4. Stir in the chopped nuts. Lay out the dough sheets from the second part, brushing each sheet with melted butter. Brush the last sheet with butter as well. Cut the baklava into squares or diamonds with a knife.

5. Bake at 160 degrees for 30 minutes.

6. Meanwhile, prepare the syrup. Mix sugar, water and lemon juice. Bring to a boil and cook for 7 minutes.

7. When baklava is ready, immediately pour syrup over it and sprinkle nuts on top. Let it soak for a while.
