Stewed cabbage in a skillet: what to add to the dish for a savory taste
Stewed cabbage is a commonplace dish, but at the same time, it is hearty and nutritious. It can be cooked with meat, mushrooms, cereals, or just with spices. Prunes are often added to the dish for a spicy and rich taste.
Food blogger Oksana Komashchuk (komashchuk_ksu) shared a recipe for stewed cabbage with prunes on her Instagram page, which can be cooked in a frying pan.
Ingredients:
- cabbage – 1 pc
- carrots – 1 pc
- onion – 1 pc
- tomato sauce – 1 tbsp
- water – 150 ml
- prunes – 50-100 g
- salt, pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Chop the onion and grate the carrots. Prepare the frying.
2. Meanwhile, chop the cabbage and add to the vegetables.
3. At the same time add water, sauce, and spices. Simmer until the cabbage is tender.
4. Add the prunes. Simmer over low heat for 3-5 minutes.
