Successful cherry pie with tea sauce: a recipe for the perfect yeast dough
Buns, pies, cheesecakes, dumplings, pancakes – all these dishes are made from flour, eggs, and sugar. For example, when preparing fluffy buns and pies, it is very important to make a good dough, which determines the taste of the dish.
Culinary expert Yevhen Klopotenko has shared a recipe for a delicious pie with cherry filling and cherry sauce on his website.
Ingredients:
- warm milk - 150 ml
- dry yeast - 1 tsp.
- sugar - 2 tbsp.
- oil - 40 ml
- salt - 1/2 tsp.
- wheat flour - 1-1.5 cups
- egg yolk - 1 pc.
- dry yeast - 1 tsp.
For the filling and sauce:
- cherries - 300 g
- sugar - 3-4 tbsp.
- corn - 1 tsp.
- ground cinnamon - a pinch
- cardamom - a few grains
- zest from half a lemon
Method of preparation:
1. Dough: Pour the milk warmed to a lukewarm state into a deep bowl and add the yeast, mix, add sugar, flour, and mix thoroughly again. Put the mixture in a warm place for 15 minutes.
2. Then add the remaining oil, salt, and flour, stir everything together, knead the dough, and leave it to rest.
3. Filling: Put the pitted cherries in a small saucepan, add sugar, a pinch of cinnamon, a few cardamom seeds, and the grated zest of half a lemon. Put the saucepan on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil, after boiling, cook for another 7 minutes. Remove the pan from the stove and strain the juice through a sieve.
4. Roll out the dough, put the filling, gently wrap the dough in the form of a pie, make a few shallow cuts with a knife, and brush with beaten egg yolk.
5. Leave the cake to rest for 20 minutes.
6. Cover the baking sheet with parchment and put the cake, bake for 25-30 minutes at 180 C until golden brown.
7. Sauce: Dissolve the starch in a little cold water and add to the juice, boil in a saucepan for a few minutes. Once the sauce thickens, it is ready.
Serve the cherry pie with the sauce!
