Strawberry galette with cottage cheese: a simple dish with incredible flavor

Galette is a very easy cake that can be filled with any topping you like. Since strawberry season is in full swing, you should have time to enjoy this berry as much as possible.

That's why food blogger Lisa Hlinska offered a recipe for a galette with cottage cheese and strawberries on her Instagram. In just a few minutes, you will have an unusually flavorful dish on your table that will create a summer mood.

Ingredients for the dough

  • flour - 200 gr
  • salt - a pinch
  • butter, at least 82% - 80 g
  • powdered sugar - 40 g
  • egg yolk - 1 pc
  • ice water - 30 ml

Ingredients for the filling

  • 5-9% cottage cheese - 200 g
  • eggs - 1 pc
  • sour cream 20-30% - 50 gr
  • sugar - 20 gr
  • corn starch - 10 g

Ingredients for the decor

  • strawberries - 400-500 g
  • corn starch - 10 g
  • powdered sugar - 20 g

How to cook

1. Prepare the dough. Grate cold butter and combine it with flour until crumbs form.

2. Add salt and powdered sugar. Mix well.

3. Add egg and ice water. Knead the dough.

4. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes.

5. Prepare the filling. Rub cottage cheese through a fine sieve.

6. Add cornstarch, powdered sugar, egg and sour cream. Mix well.

7. Rinse strawberries, dry them and cut into thin slices.

8. Roll out the chilled dough on parchment, forming a circle 35 cm in diameter and 3 mm thick.

9. Spread the cheese filling on the dough, leaving 5 cm free around the edges.

10. Put the strawberry slices on the cottage cheese filling. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and starch.

11. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling.

12. Brush the dough with a beaten egg and garnish with almond flakes.

13. Put in the oven at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

14. Let it cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
