Medovukha is a delicious, strong drink that is made very simply from the most commonplace ingredients: honey, hops, water, and, of course, yeast. The most important thing when making the drink is to infuse it for at least 2-3 weeks.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares a recipe for delicious homemade mead that you can easily make at home.
Tip: for a spicy taste, you can add cinnamon and sugar to the drink.
Ingredients:
- water - 3.5 liters
- honey - 460 g
- yeast - 20 g
- hops - 10 g
Method of preparation:
1. Put honey in a saucepan, add water, mix.
2. Next, add the hops and cook over low heat for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Then cool completely and strain through cheesecloth. Pour the liquid into a glass bowl.
3. Add the yeast and stir with a wooden spoon. Cover with a special lid or rubber glove and leave to "ferment" in a cool, dark place for 2-3 weeks. After that, strain thoroughly through cheesecloth again and pour into portioned bottles with corks; you can add sugar to taste.
It's worth noting that the drink can be infused for longer, so it will be even stronger.
