Beef stroganoff in a new way: just what you need for mashed potatoes

Beefstroganoff is an ancient dish, as well as a way of cooking soft and tender meat. The original and classic recipe is beef with onions in a creamy sauce. But today many housewives add mushrooms and even pickles to the dish. As you can imagine, you can serve beef stroganoff either on its own or with a side dish of your choice. Although beef tastes best with mashed potatoes.
Food blogger Olena Mazur (lenna_mazur) shared a new recipe for beef stroganoff on her Instagram page: with beef, mushrooms, and pickles.
Ingredients:
- beef/veal - 300 g
- onion - 1 pc
- mushrooms - 150 g
- chili pepper
- pickles - 150 g
- butter - 20 g
- sour cream 15% - 5 tbsp
- mustard - 1-2 tsp.
- dill - 4 sprigs
- salt, pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the meat into thin strips and put on a preheated skillet. Fry until the moisture evaporates.
2. While the meat is frying, chop the onions, mushrooms, cucumbers, chili peppers and dill.
3. When the moisture from the meat has evaporated, add the chopped onion. Fry for a few minutes.
4. Then add the following in turn: mushrooms, chili, cucumbers, salt and pepper.
5. Finally add butter and sour cream. Cook the dish under a lid over low heat until the meat is tender.
6. Sprinkle the finished dish with dill.
