It turns out that the popular homemade caviar can be made not only from eggplant and zucchini. An even more budget-friendly alternative is caviar based on onions and carrots, which is especially tasty with frozen grated bread. By adding your favorite spices to the dish, you will get caviar that is no worse than store-bought one. Moreover, it can be eaten even during Lent.

Ingredients:
- onion - 100 g
- carrots - 60 g
- vegetable oil
- apples 1\2 pcs
- bread - 1\2 baguette
- tomato paste
- vinegar 1\2 tbsp
- sugar
- salt, pepper
Recipe for caviar from carrots and onions
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the baguette into pieces and freeze.
2. Cut onion into cubes. Fry until soft.

3. Dice the carrots and add to the onions. Add vegetable oil. Fry until tender.
4. Add sugar, salt and tomato paste. Stir well.
5. Grate the frozen bread into the vegetables. Add the diced apple. Cook for 2 minutes.

6. Add vinegar. Stir to combine. Put in jars or eat immediately.
