Beets and herring are an ideal set of products for making delicious salads and appetizers. It is very important to note that they go well with all vegetables and sauces.
The cook shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious beetroot salad with herring, onions and peas.
Ingredients:
- beets - 2 pcs.
- shallots - 1 pc.
- butter
- spices: salt, pepper - to taste
- pickled herring - 150 g
- pickled cucumbers - 2 pcs.
- potatoes - 2 pcs.
- canned peas - 4 tbsp
- sour cream - 1.5 tbsp
- mayonnaise - 1.5 tbsp
- beets, potatoes, cucumbers, onions - small size
Method of preparation:
1. Finely chop the onion. Cover with boiling water and strain in a few minutes.
2. Grate the boiled beets on a coarse grater, add the cooled onions, and season to taste. Cover and refrigerate for several hours.
3. Cool the boiled potatoes in their skins and cut them into cubes. Dice the herring and cucumber as well.
4. Drain the peas from the brine and mix. Add sour cream, and mayonnaise and mix again, season to taste.
5. Cover the salad and refrigerate for several hours.
6. Put the ingredients on the dish in alternating layers.
