Peeling off the coarsest layer of skin

Thinly peeling potatoes is not only a cost-saving measure, but also a nutritionally beneficial one. The fact is that all the nutrients are located just under the skin. And if you boil potatoes in their skins, this is the healthiest option.

Cooking potatoes immediately after peeling

After peeling, put the potatoes in cold water and leave them there for a while. This will remove all nitrates and excess starch from the vegetable. The mashed potatoes will be fluffy, tender, and less caloric.

Do not change the water

After soaking, the water must be drained and the vegetable boiled in clean water. But before putting the product in the water, bring it to a boil. This is the only way to preserve all the beneficial components.

Add salt immediately

Potatoes will remain intact and soft if you add salt at the end of cooking.
