Puffy stuffed donuts: how to prepare the perfect condensed milk cream
Puffy donuts are a dish that has been a favorite since childhood. If cooked correctly, the donuts are very tender and airy. And by adding a delicious filling, you can get a real gastronomic pleasure.
A food blogger with the nickname kathycoooks told us how to make donuts so that they turn out puffy on Instagram. She also shared a recipe for the perfect condensed milk filling.
Ingredients for the starter
- warm milk - 200 ml
- sugar - 1 tsp
- live yeast - 30 g
- flour - 50 g
Ingredients for the dough
- flour - 400 gr
- egg - 1 pc
- sugar - 40 gr
- soft butter - 50 gr
- starter
Ingredients for the cream
- milk - 500 ml
- eggs - 2 pcs
- sugar - 60 gr
- flour - 3 tbsp
- condensed milk - 100 g
- butter - 50 gr
Method of preparation
1. For the starter, mix all the ingredients and put in a warm place for 10 minutes.
2. Add the starter, egg, sugar and soft butter to the total amount of flour. Knead a smooth dough first with a spatula and then with your hands.
3. Put the dough in a deep bowl and leave it in a warm place for 1 hour.
4. Prepare the cream. Mix eggs, sugar, flour and 100 ml of milk.
5. Heat 400 ml of milk in a saucepan. Pour in the egg mixture and, stirring constantly, cook the cream over low heat until thick.
6. Pour the cream into a bowl and cover with cling film. Leave to cool.
7. Add butter to the cream and mix with a mixer. Pour in the condensed milk and mix again.
8. When the dough is ready, knead and form balls of 60 g each.
9. Put them parchment and press down a little with your hands. Cover with a towel and leave for another 20 minutes.
10. Deep-fry the donuts over low heat on both sides until golden brown.
11. Put the finished donuts on paper towels and roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
12. Fill the warm donuts with cream and garnish with strawberries.
