How to cook marinated Korean-style pig ears: a win-win appetizer
Usually, pig ears are used to make jelly. And that's where the imagination of housewives ends. However, this pork product is definitely not to be missed out because it can be deliciously baked, stuffed and marinated. The latter option, by the way, is the easiest, and it makes a win-win appetizer.
The recipe for marinated pig ears was shared by chef Valeriy Ponomar on his Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- pig ears - 4 pcs
- carrots - 100-150 g
- chili - 1/3 pc
- salt - 1 tsp
- sugar - 1 tsp
- garlic - 2 cloves
- coriander - 1 tsp
- paprika - 1 tsp
- 6% wine vinegar - 1 tbsp
- sunflower oil - 5 tbsp
Additionally:
- onion - 1 pc
- bay leaves - 5-6 pcs
- allspice - 6 pcs
- peppercorns - 8 pcs
- salt - 1 tbsp
- water - 2 liters
Method of preparation:
1. Put the pig ears in a saucepan. Cover with water.
2. Add onion, bay leaves, salt, allspice and peppercorns. Cook over low heat for 1.5 hours.
3. Cut the ready-made ears into strips.
4. Cut the carrots into strips too.
5. Chop the pepper.
6. Mix the ears with the pepper, carrots, spices, hot sunflower oil and vinegar. Add squeezed garlic. Stir the mixture.
7. Put in the refrigerator to marinate for 5-6 hours.
