Homemade apple pies like grandma's: the recipe for the most successful dough
The most important thing in making homemade butter pies is to make a good dough, which determines the taste and shelf life of the bakery product. The filling can be anything: salty or sweet.
One of the cooking blogs (polli_cooking) published a recipe for apple pies on Instagram. The pastry is based on yeast dough with milk, which makes the pastry very fluffy, grows well, and is perfectly stored.
Ingredients:
- milk - 250 ml
- sugar - 1 tbsp
- fresh yeast - 20 g
- flour - 380 g
- salt - 1 tsp.
- sunflower oil - 2 tbsp. l.
The filling:
- apples - 3 pcs.
- butter - 25 g
- sugar - 3-4 tbsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Dough. Add sugar and yeast to warm milk. Mix well, cover with foil or a towel and leave in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.
2. Filling. Peel and cut the apples into cubes, then fry in butter with sugar. Caramelize the fruit.
3. Finally add cinnamon, stir and remove from heat.
4. The dough. Add the sifted flour and salt to the finished dough and mix.
5. Add oil and start kneading the dough - first in a bowl, and then continue kneading on a floured surface. Put the finished dough into a bowl greased with oil, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1 hour.
6. After 1 hour, knead the dough and form it into a kobvask. Divide into balls of equal size. Cover the balls with a towel and start making pies with the filling.
7. Put the finished pies on a baking sheet covered with parchment, brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
8. Bake at 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
9. Take the finished pies out of the oven and cover with a towel, leave for 10 minutes - the pies will become softer.
