Why you shouldn't cook with hot tap water

Cooking with tap water

Hot tap water contains salts and harmful elements, so it is not recommended for cooking, as it can be dangerous to consume. As it turned out, the taste of food and its benefits are directly affected by the right water.

Today, the FoodOboz editorial team will tell you what kind of water you should use in the cooking process.

I advise those who buy bottled water in the store to ask about the certificate and the source. After all, when a company produces bottled water, it gets it from somewhere.

Olha Babii, a member of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities, said this on Ukrainian Radio.

Why it is better not to cook with hot water from the tap

The use of water in cooking

Cold water from the tap goes through several stages of treatment before it reaches your pan. That means it is safer. This does not happen with hot water. It retains all the salts and harmful elements that can occur during the heating process. As a result, the dish becomes unsafe.

Even if you compare the appearance of hot and cold water, you will notice a significant difference. The former is slightly cloudy. The second is more transparent.

What kind of water is suitable for cooking

It is best to use water that has already been purified. There are even special deliveries for this that can save you time. But, if this is not possible, you should cook food only in cold water. Alternatively, you can use store-bought bottled water, which is also purified.
