Why jelly does not freeze: the mistakes that everyone makes are named
Fruit or berry jelly is the perfect dessert for summer. But it often happens that gelatin does not harden and the mass remains liquid. This happens due to a number of mistakes made during cooking.
The FoodOboz editorial team will tell you why jelly doesn't freeze. Even if you have such a problem, the mass can be saved.
Watch the proportions
Do not dilute gelatin by eye. Be sure to follow the proportions on the package. Also, choose a suitable container whose volume you know exactly.
Using the wrong fruit
Not all fruits can be used to make jelly that will freeze. Pineapples or kiwis are definitely not suitable for this dessert. These fruits contain substances that prevent them from solidifying.
Gelatin of poor quality
The quality of the gelatin plays an important role. If the product has already passed its expiration date, it should not be used because it will not harden.
How to save liquid jelly
If you see that the gelatin is not solidifying, it can still be saved. To do this, heat the mass. Then add twice as much dry gelatin and, stirring constantly, bring it to dissolve over the fire. Then pour the warm gelatin back into the molds - it should harden.
