Many people often find themselves in a situation where, after baking a cake, they have a sponge cake that is no longer needed. Of course, no one is going to eat it and you'll just have to throw it away. But don't be in a hurry - you can make delicious sweets from the leftover sponge cake. They are somewhat reminiscent of the taste of childhood.
An unusual idea was shared by food blogger Kateryna Kudliak. It was posted on her Instagram page.
Recipe for biscuit sweets
To make bayaderek sweets, we need the following ingredients:
- Sponge cake - 500 g
- Cocoa - 3 tbsp.
- Butter - 3 tbsp.
- Jam - 100 g
- Cognac - 30 g
- Milk - 6-7 tbsp.
For the glaze:
- Dark chocolate - 1 bar
- Butter - 60 g
For the glaze you need to melt the chocolate and butter
For decorating:
- Almond flakes
- Coconut flakes
- Nuts
- Rice balls
Method of preparation:
- Combine milk, butter, and cocoa in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cool.
- Grind the sponge cake in a blender.
- Add the milk mass, jam, and cognac. Mix thoroughly. The finished mass should be moist enough to mold well. Form into balls and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- For the glaze: combine chocolate and butter in a saucepan. Melt them.
- Dip the rice balls in the glaze and roll in coconut/nuts/rice balls.
