What to cook with buckwheat, except porridge: the simplest recipes for delicious dishes
Buckwheat is a very valuable and healthy grain that can be cooked in just 10 minutes with meat, vegetables, and milk. It is also used to make soups, cutlets, and even desserts.
Culinary expert Yevhen Klopotenko shared on his website recipes for original, delicious, and easy-to-prepare buckwheat dishes.
1. Buckwheat with mushrooms
Ingredients:
- buckwheat - 1 cup
- water - 2 cups
- mushrooms - 300 g
- onion - 1 pc.
- butter - 50 g
- almonds - 50 g
- pepper and salt - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Peel and chop the onion and mushrooms into four pieces.
2. Chop the almonds.
3. Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the onion until golden brown.
4. Then add the mushrooms and fry until golden brown.
5. Boil the buckwheat.
6. Add buckwheat to the cooked mushrooms, mix and sprinkle with chopped almonds and serve.
2. Bigos with buckwheat
Ingredients:
- Buckwheat - 300 g
- Chicken fillet - 1-2 pcs.
- Sauerkraut - 300 g
- Water - 600-700 ml
- Zira - 1 hour
- Butter - 50 g
- Salt and pepper - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Wash and peel 1-2 chicken fillets from the films and excess fat, and cut the meat into equal medium cubes.
2. Put the meat in a baking dish and add the sauerkraut.
3. Pour the buckwheat into the baking dish.
4. Cut the butter and put it on the buckwheat.
5. Pour 600-700 ml of water into the mold, add 1 tsp of zira, salt, and pepper to taste.
6. Bake the bigos in the oven for 20-30 minutes at 180°C.
