Ukrainian gastronomy is hard to imagine without red borscht. This dish has been interpreted by many nations, but it is our version that is the reference. However, it often happens that hostesses experiment with flavors and add new components. But also such products that are not suitable for borscht at all. If you add cinnamon or cloves to borscht, for piquancy - the dish will turn out too sharp and sour. Therefore, it is better to refuse such spices.
Asian spices, Korean spices do not go well with borscht. The popular spice hopli-suneli goes well with many flavors, but it doesn't go well with borscht at all.
Also, you should not add fresh or dried ginger to the dish. Alternatively, such spice can be served on a separate plate.
The greens depend on what kind of broth you are cooking the dish on. If it is pork or chicken - dill is better. For beef - parsley.
