What nuts should not be consumed
Nuts are a concentrated source of nutrients - vitamins, minerals, fiber. Nuts are seeds in a hard, thick shell that protects valuable fats and vitamin E from oxidation.
Remember: nuts should be fresh, not roasted. To get the full benefit of nuts, you need to eat them raw. Heat treatment causes most of the nut's beneficial properties to be lost.
It is advisable to buy nuts in their shells. Peeled and packaged in bags, they quickly oxidize and acquire the taste of rancid oil. Peel and eat them raw to preserve the beneficial fatty acids and vitamin E. Salted, and even more so, sweetened with sugar or honey, are not the best choice either.
Some people, however, avoid nuts because they are afraid of being overweight. Indeed, nuts are a high-calorie product - 690 kcal/100 g. This is due to the presence of fats in the form of healthy polyunsaturated acids.
The proof of the benefits is that people who consume just a handful of nuts a day have lower risks of coronary heart disease, cancer and a lower risk of premature death! Sounds like an advertisement for a miracle product, doesn't it? This protective effect of nuts is manifested when you consume about 20 grams of nuts per day. Increasing the amount of nuts in your diet beyond 20 g has no benefits. This applies to the consumption of all types of nuts, not just one type. This amount will not harm your figure and will not cause heaviness in the stomach.
Remember that nuts are highly allergenic foods! People who are prone to protein allergies and intolerance to other types of nuts should be careful. There are contraindications for gastrointestinal diseases, some skin diseases, and hyperthyroidism.
