What cream makes the most delicious honey cake: we share the technology

Honey cake is a dessert that is often prepared for a wide variety of occasions. Therefore, there are many variations of cooking. Most often, people experiment with creams: butter, condensed milk or chocolate. But still, the most delicious option is the one with sour cream.

The idea of making honey cake with sour cream was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Nadia Oranska (nadia.oranska).

Ingredients for the dough:

  • honey - 2 tbsp.
  • sugar - 200 g
  • butter - 100 g
  • flour - 500-600 g
  • eggs - 2 pcs
  • soda - 1 tsp.
  • salt - a pinch
  • cream 30% - 700 ml (you can use sour cream)
  • sugar - 150 g (powdered sugar can be used)

Method of preparation:

1. Beat eggs with sugar with a mixer, add a pinch of salt. Beat for 3-5 minutes until thick and light.

2. Melt the honey and butter in a saucepan, do not boil, so that the beneficial properties of honey do not disappear. Add baking soda, stirring constantly, foam will appear – this is the reaction of baking soda with honey.

3. Remove from the heat and immediately add the beaten eggs to the mixture and mix. Let the mass cool, after 5 minutes add the flour and mix everything, first with a spatula. If it is difficult to use a spatula, add the rest of the flour and knead with your hands.

4. Roll out a dough roller, and divide it into 8 pieces. Sprinkle a plate with flour, put 8 dough balls, and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, cover with plastic wrap.

5. Sprinkle the parchment with flour and roll out the dough to form a circle. Take a plate with a diameter of 20-22 cm and cut out a circle. Bake the excess dough together (it will be needed for sprinkling).

6. Prick the cake with a fork before baking. Bake each one for 4-5 minutes at 200 degrees. Remove the hot baked cake from the parchment when it cools and hardens.

6. Add sugar to the cream and beat with a mixer until thick. It is important that the cream is chilled. Form our cake. Put the cream on the bottom of the plate so that the cake does not slide off the plate. Grease the cakes one by one. Grease the sides and top of the cake as well.

7. Grind the baked remains with a mixer for sprinkling. Sprinkle the cake on top and sides.

8. Put in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours to soak.
