Warm salad with liver and citrus: how to remove bitterness
The liver is a very valuable and tasty product that experts recommend for everyone, especially children and pregnant women. It's worth noting that liver can be used to make many delicious and satisfying dishes, such as pate, salads, as well as chops, cutlets, and cakes. It can also be simply fried, or baked with potatoes and vegetables.
Food blogger Anastasiia Solopii shared a recipe on Instagram for a delicious, warm liver and summer vegetable salad that would be perfect for lunch or dinner.
Tip: to prevent the liver from becoming bitter, wash it, remove the films, cut it up, pour milk over it, and leave it for 1 hour; the milk will "take away" all the bitterness from the liver.
Ingredients:
- liver – 150 g
- spinach, lettuce leaves – 50 g
- cherry tomatoes – 5-10 pcs.
- orange – 1 pc.
- salt – to taste
- oil for frying – 1 tbsp.
For the dressing:
- mustard, not spicy – 1 tsp.
- honey – 1 tsp.
- olive oil – 1 tsp.
- orange juice – 1 hour.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the liver, cut off the films and excess fat, and cut it.
2. Fry in portions so that the pieces do not touch each other for about 8 minutes, be sure to stir.
3 Season the fried liver with salt.
5. Peel the orange, cut it into 8 pieces, and cut off the white membranes (the juice from the slices can be used for dressing).
6. Wash the lettuce leaves and place them on a plate.
7. Add the orange, halved cherry tomatoes, and fried liver.
8. Dressing: mix all the ingredients and pour over the prepared salad, mix well.
Salad is best served hot!
