Recently, Viennese waffles have become increasingly popular in Ukraine. But the lack of a special waffle iron is no reason to give up this delicious dessert.

How to make successful Viennese waffles
- You can replace milk with kefir or whey when making the batter.
- Cornstarch can be added to the batter, as it removes excess moisture and makes the pastries very crispy.
- Oil can be replaced with butter, which gives the waffles a delicate flavor.
Ingredients:
- Mineral water - 250 ml
- Butter - 250 g
- Sugar - 100 g
- Flour - 0.5 kg
- Baking powder - 0.5 tsp
- Milk - 500 ml
- Vanilla and salt - to taste
Method of preparation:
- For the dough: mix all the ingredients with a blender or mixer until the dough is thick in consistency.
- Pour a little batter into a well-heated frying pan.
- Reduce the heat and fry the waffle until small bubbles appear on its surface – this means it's time to turn it over to the other side, but do it carefully so as not to tear the delicate base.
Serve the finished waffles with anything you like: jam, sour cream, condensed milk, or whipped cream.
