You can make your dishes more satisfying and tasty with a simple gravy that will suit mashed potatoes, pasta, buckwheat, rice, cutlets, and even stuffed cabbage. It can be prepared with or without meat, mushrooms, and can be based on ordinary tomato paste.

Ingredients:

  • flour – 2 tbsp. 
  • odorless oil – 2-3 tbsp. 
  • tomato paste – 2 tbsp.
  • cream 10% – 200 ml
  • water – 400 ml
  • salt
  • bay leaf, allspice

Gravy for mashed potatoes and cutlets

Method of preparation:

1. Lightly fry the flour until brown, stirring occasionally, then add the oil and fry until smooth.

2. Immediately add the tomato paste, and cook for several minutes, stirring constantly.

3. Add cold cream in portions, stirring constantly.

4. When the mass becomes homogeneous, pour cold water in portions. Add salt, pepper, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil and cook for a few more minutes.
