A sharp cold snap has come to Ukraine, and to stay warm you need to drink warming drinks. So, confectioner Olga Fandorina shared her best recipes.

Many of them are good for health and will prevent you from getting sick this fall, writes the Ukrainian News publication.

Lemon and honey sea buckthorn

  1. First, mix 2 tbsp of black tea, 3 lemon slices, and a handful of dried mint in a teapot.
  2. Then pour 800 ml of hot water over the mixture and brew for 10 minutes.
  3. Mash 3 tbsp of fresh sea buckthorn berries with honey to taste. When the tea has cooled slightly, put the berry-honey mixture into a teapot and leave it for another 15 minutes.
  4. After that, strain the drink through a fine sieve and serve.

Note that you can also put lemon slices, a cinnamon stick, and star anise in the cup.

Cranberries with a bouquet of spices

  1. Peel and core a small sweet and sour apple, cut it into small cubes, and pour the juice over the lemon wedges.
  2. Next, mash 30 g of fresh cranberries and put them in a teapot with the apple cubes.
  3. Then add 3 tbsp of large-leaf black tea, a pinch of ground ginger, cinnamon, and thyme.
  4. Pour 500 ml of boiling water over the mixture, leave for 20 minutes, and then strain.

To make the drink sweeter, you can add sugar or honey.

Cranberries with a bouquet of spices

Cocoa with marshmallows

  1. In a glass container, mix 3 tbsp of cocoa powder, 2-3 tbsp of sugar, a pinch of cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Pour 150 ml of boiling water over the mixture and dissolve the cocoa completely.
  3. Pour 500 ml of milk into a saucepan and heat over low heat. The main thing is not to let the milk boil.
  4. Then stir in the dissolved cocoa and sugar in a thin stream.
  5. Reduce the heat to a minimum and, without stopping stirring, keep the drink on the fire for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Pour the cocoa into cups and garnish with small marshmallows.

Hot chocolate with citrus and cinnamon

  1. Mix 100 ml of milk and 80 ml of cream with a fat content of at least 30-33%, heat over low heat, not allowing the mixture to boil.
  2. After that, break 100 g of dark chocolate into pieces, put it in a saucepan, and dissolve it completely in the cream and milk.
  3. Then add 3-4 tbsp of orange juice, 2 tsp of cocoa powder, and sugar to taste.
  4. Keep the drink on low heat for a couple of minutes.
  5. Pour the thick hot chocolate into small coffee cups.

Note that the drink can be served without anything, lightly dusted with ground cinnamon and finely grated orange zest.

Spiced pumpkin with cream

  1. First, cut 400 g of pumpkin pulp into slices and bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 180°C.
  2. Afterward, puree it thoroughly with an immersion blender.
  3. Then mix the pumpkin puree with 250 ml of filtered water and 150 g of sugar.
  4. Add 1 tsp each of cinnamon and ground cloves, 0.5 tsp of ground ginger, 2-3 anise stars, ¼ tsp of nutmeg.
  5. Bring the spice mixture to a boil and cook for 15 minutes over low heat until it thickens completely.
