The most delicious apple strudel in 20 minutes: what to cook with pita bread
When you want something delicious for breakfast or just for tea, strudel is the perfect option. The main thing is to have ready-made puff pastry or pita bread at hand, and as for the filling, it will definitely not be a problem. You can make it with apples and nuts, cottage cheese, berries, or jam - whatever your heart desires.
Food blogger Valeria (cook_with_val) shared a recipe for a lazy apple strudel made with pita bread on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- pita bread - 2 pcs.
- apples - 6-8 pcs
- butter - 50 g (20 g + 30 g)
- cinnamon - 1 tsp.
- nutmeg - 1 tsp.
- orange juice - 3-4 tbsp.
- sugar - 75 g
- raisins - 75 g
- nuts - 80 g (50 g + 30 g)
- starch - 2 tbsp
- eggs - 1 pc (for greasing)
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the apples into cubes. Fry in butter with sugar, cinnamon, orange juice, raisins, starch, and nuts.
2. Melt the rest of the butter and spread it over the pita bread.
3. Put the prepared filling and roll up the roll. Make cuts in the rolls and brush with a beaten egg. Sprinkle with more nuts if desired.
4. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 200 degrees. If you have a powerful oven, 15-20 minutes will be enough.
