The most delicate Italian apple pie: little dough and lots of filling
Italian apple pie is extremely tender, and soft, and melts in your mouth. It contains a lot of apple filling, but very little flour, which makes the cake not too high in calories. The butter, which is poured on top of the cake, gives it a special flavor and creamy aroma.
Food blogger Iryna Lazun (iren.lazun) shared a recipe for Italian apple pie on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- apples – 4-5 pcs (hard varieties, large)
- eggs – 3 pcs
- flour – 120 g
- sugar – 50-60 g
- vanilla sugar – 10 g
- melted butter – 25 g
- milk – 100 ml
- cinnamon – 1 tsp
- juice of 1\2 lemon
- lemon zest (optional)
- salt – 1/4 tsp
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the apples and cut into thin slices. Drizzle with lemon juice, mix well.
2. Add sugar and vanilla sugar to the eggs, and beat with a whisk.
3. Add milk and melted butter, and beat again.
4. Gradually add the cinnamon flour. Mix until smooth.
5. Add the apples to the dough. Mix well.
6. Put the mass into the mold so that the apple slices are layered and there is no space between them. Drizzle with melted butter.
7. Bake at 180 degrees for 60 minutes.
8. Cool the cake and sprinkle with powdered sugar (optional).
