Hake is a very juicy fish with few bones. Therefore, you can cook absolutely any dish from it. And instead of traditional cutlets, you can make very simple breaded fish sticks.

The idea of making hake sticks was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Kateryna (ketiv_). It is delicious served with sauce.

Ingredients:

  • hake fillet - 2 pcs.
  • chicken egg - 1 pc + 1 yolk
  • favorite spices: nutmeg, black pepper
  • breadcrumbs - 200 g
  • wheat flour - 100 g (for breading)

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • Greek yogurt
  • dill

Method of preparation:

1. Make minced fish.

2. If the hake is frozen, squeeze out/blot excess liquid with a napkin.

3. If you use other fish, pick out its bones.

4. Make minced fish with meat grinder or blender (you can do it several times) to get a tender consistency.

5. Add egg yolk, spices, and 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs to the minced fish.

6. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth and beat down a little with your hands.

7. Prepare the breading: 1 bowl - flour, 2 bowl - beaten egg (it is better to do it with an electric whisk), 3 bowl - breadcrumbs.

8. Form sticks of the desired size with your hands.

9. First roll the fish stick in flour, then in egg and finally in breadcrumbs.

10. Put on a baking sheet lined with parchment and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes (until golden brown).

11. For the sauce, combine Greek yogurt and finely chopped dill.
