Sweet and flavorful strawberries are a great base for delicious desserts. It can even be used to make delicious and fluffy buns. The filling is very juicy and goes well with milk dough.

The idea of making fluffy sweet buns with strawberries was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Victoria Popin (picantecooking). There is no yeast in this recipe.

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 550 grams of flour
  • 300 ml of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 yolks
  • 120 grams of sugar
  • 100 grams of butter, melt
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • vanilla sugar to taste
  • 20 grams of fresh yeast

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 32 small strawberries
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • 200 grams of cream cheese (can be replaced with grated cottage cheese)

Additional ingredients:

  • flour for sprinkling
  • milk for greasing
  • icing sugar for sprinkling

Method of preparation:

1. For the dough, put the milk and yeast in a deep bowl or the bowl of a planetary mixer. Mix until the yeast is completely dissolved.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients for the dough. Knead everything well for 5-6 minutes in a planetary mixer, 10-12 minutes by hand. At the end of the kneading, the dough should be stretched with longer fibers.

3. Cover the bowl with the dough with a lid or cling film and leave to prove for 1.5-2 hours, until the dough has doubled in size.

4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and divide into 16 equal pieces of dough (approximately 70 grams each).

5. From each piece, form a round bun, folding the edges of the dough under. Set aside for 15 minutes. Cover the bottom of the baking sheet with parchment.

6. Flatten each bun into a pancake shape and place 2 strawberries in the center and 1 tbsp of the filling.

7. Pinch the top edges and place the buns seam side down in the prepared baking dish. Put all 16 buns in this way.

8. Cover the baking sheet with the buns with a kitchen towel and leave for 1 hour.

9. Meanwhile, preheat the oven at 190 degrees.

10. Brush the buns with milk and put them in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The buns should be baked and nicely browned.

11. Take the baking sheet with the buns out of the oven and sprinkle well with powdered sugar while still hot.
