Scientists have named a fruit that lowers blood sugar
Mango fruit can lower blood sugar levels. And this, in turn, improves the health of people with type 2 diabetes.
According to the Express, this conclusion was reached by American scientists who conducted a special study. As part of the experiment, experts suggested that diabetics add freeze-dried mango pulp to their diet. The results showed that after a few months of testing, type 2 diabetics had a decrease in postprandial glucose levels. In addition, many of the volunteers had a decrease in body fat.
The researchers also found that polyphenols contained in mangoes have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. They also reminded that mangoes contain a large number of well-known bioactive compounds: carotenoids, tocopherols, ascorbic acid, dietary fiber, and phenolic compounds mangiferin, gallic acid, and quercetin.
At the same time, American experts note that mangoes contain a lot of sugar. Therefore, this experiment has a good result only for type 2 diabetics. But people at risk should eat this fruit in small portions.
