Puffed dumplings with cherries on custard dough: recipe by Tatiana Litvinova
Varenyky is a traditional dish of Ukrainian cuisine, which in every region of Ukraine is prepared in different ways, on different dough and with different fillings. The most important thing in cooking is to make a perfect, fluffy dough, which determines the flavor and structure of the dish.
Cook Tetiana Litvinova shared a YouTube channel recipe for tasty, lush dumplings with cherries, which you will quickly cook on custard dough.
Ingredients:
- Flour - 650 g
- Milk - 300 g
- Water - 150 ml
- Butter - 30 g
- Sugar - 30 g
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Cherries - 1 kg
Method of preparation:
1. Bring water to boil, pour in milk, add sugar, salt, butter and stir.
2. Pour in 1/2 of the total flour. Remove from the heat and place the dough on a surface, add a little more flour and knead the dough. Transfer it to food wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
3. After the finished dough roll out evenly into a layer, press out circles with a glass, put 2-3 cherries in the center, add sugar on top and pinch the edges so that nothing falls out.
4. Bring the water to the boil, place the dumplings in the water and cook in the boiling water in small batches in a large saucepan until the dumplings float.
