Potato pancakes that don't darken: what to add to the dough
A hearty, tasty, simple potato dish that everyone knows how to make is potato pancakes. But very often, even before the frying process, the grated potatoes darken. To prevent this, simply add onion juice to the grated potatoes.
Cook Yulia (cooking_by_yuliya) shared a recipe for flavorful potato pancakes that don't darken on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- potatoes - 3-4 pcs.
- onion - 1 pc.
- garlic - optional
- eggs - 1 pc.
- flour - 2 tbsp
- spices - to taste
- oil - for frying
Method of preparation:
1. Grate the potatoes or pass them through a meat grinder, then beat in a blender. You can grind the onion with the potatoes. Squeeze well so that all the excess liquid runs off.
2. Beat the egg with the spices, add the flour, mix and pour the mixture into the potatoes.
3. Heat a frying pan, add oil, and fry the pancakes until golden brown.
4. Put the potato pancakes on a paper napkin so that they are not greasy.
Serve the potato pancakes hot with sour cream!
