Not only tasty: the healthiest chocolate variety has been named

Today, it has been scientifically established which type of chocolate is the most beneficial for our body.

Nutritionist Natalia Maltseva wrote about this on Facebook.

"Today, there are many types and varieties of this sweetness, but bitter chocolate is by far the healthiest. "It is called 'bitter' because of its high cocoa content – at least 72%, and even better, 82%," the doctor said.

The benefits of bitter chocolate

"The first thing you can feel when you eat a bite or two is an improvement in mood," the nutritionist said, emphasizing that the high content of cocoa beans promotes the production of serotonin, which causes a surge of happiness.

Flavonoids in dark chocolate prevent the appearance of premature wrinkles and reduce the likelihood of skin cancer. In addition, they reduce the damage from the negative effects of ultraviolet radiation, and polyphenols improve blood circulation and reduce blood clots.

The nutritionist also noted that doctors note a low risk of diabetes among fans of this type of chocolate.

Theobromine, which is part of dark chocolate, keeps the heart muscle in good shape, while natural antioxidants strengthen the immune system.

Unlike other types of chocolate, bitter chocolate has a low glycemic index, and its consumption has a positive effect on the functioning of the pancreas.

Equally important is the beneficial property of this delicious product, which reduces pain in women during critical days.

The nutritionist also noted that in case of overeating, chocolate can provoke serious health problems.

"In addition to the benefits, any product has contraindications. Harm in the case of bitter chocolate (as well as with other varieties) occurs when it is consumed in excess. To avoid harming your health, you should eat no more than 20-25 grams of a bar. This is usually 2-3 pieces. Although we are used to eating all the chocolate at once. In the case of milk varieties, this is not surprising – they simply melt in your mouth, and you immediately want to take another piece. Moreover, they cause considerable damage to the teeth. Excessive consumption of chocolate is very harmful to health, and it's not just diabetes and excess weight. Keep this in mind," the nutritionist said.
