Named unusual recipes for cooking eggs from different countries

In honor of World Egg Day, which is traditionally celebrated in October, the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia published a selection of unusual recipes for dishes from this product.

So, the named cooking methods are popular in different countries. These include:

  • kvek-kvek. This recipe is popular in the Philippines. Quail eggs are boiled and then fried in flour with turmeric in oil;
  • foo-yang omelet. This omelet, which is commonly prepared in Shanghai, is more hearty than the usual omelet as it is made with bean sprouts, onions, celery and meat (pork, chicken, beef).
  • Scotch eggs: boiled eggs are covered with finely chopped sausages, piled in breadcrumbs and fried in oil;
Shakshuka. The country of origin of this dish is considered to be Tunisia
  • cocotte eggs. This dish, popular in France, is cooked in the oven or on a water bath. Eggs are baked in cream and butter, sometimes potatoes, leeks or bacon are added;
  • shakshuka. The country of origin of this dish is Tunisia. Eggs are cooked in a sauce of tomato paste, sweet pepper, turmeric and cumin. They are served directly in a frying pan;
  • Tamagoyaki - "Japanese omelette". Dashi broth, salt, sugar and soy sauce are used to make this dish. Thin layers of omelet are curled in a frying pan and then sliced.
