May burn and even explode: what not to wash the microwave with and what can not be cooked or heated in it
To quickly heat food, everyone uses a very convenient and simple microwave oven. But you need to remember that not all foods can be reheated in it, and you also need to know how to wash it properly so that it does not burn and lasts a long time.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares useful tips on what you shouldn't clean the microwave oven with and what you shouldn't cook or heat in it.
Tips from the experts:
1. Do not pour water on the heating elements to clean the microwave oven from the deposits. Use a minimum of liquid.
2. Do not use melamine or metal sponges as they can damage the microwave.
3. Do not use detergents containing abrasive (scouring powder) or poisonous substances. They can corrode the surface of the microwave oven.
4. Do not clean the plate located on the right side wall inside your microwave oven. Mechanical impact can damage it!
What not to heat in the microwave:
1. Do not turn on the microwave oven when it is empty.
2. Do not use metal cookware or cookware with a metal coating or pattern.
3. Do not cook food for more than the specified time. Follow the instructions or your food may catch fire. Solid foods should be pierced with a fork or toothpick before cooking to prevent them from exploding inside the microwave.
4. Do not cook first courses, and do not use the oven to fry food in oil because it is very difficult to control the temperature in this case and there is a high risk that the oil will catch fire.
5. Do not cook eggs in the microwave.
6. Do not heat foods in closed jars, including canned foods, as they may explode.
