Lazy khachapuri with cheese: cooked in a skillet
Real Georgian khachapuri can be made simply in a frying pan. All you need is basic cheese dough. It fries very quickly and holds its shape well. It does not contain yeast or baking powder, but the texture is very fluffy.
The idea of cooking lazy khachapuri in a frying pan was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Roksolana Harasymiv (roksolana.harasymiv).
Ingredients:
- 100 g of cottage cheese
- 1 egg
- 150 ml of milk
- 150 -180 g of hard cheese
- 5 tbsp of whole wheat flour
- spices to taste, herbs
Method of preparation:
1. Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater, add the egg, cottage cheese, flour, milk, spices and mix well.
2. Put the mass on a preheated frying pan greased with oil (you can use Ghee).
3. Cover with a lid.
4. Fry over low heat for about 8-10 minutes on one side and up to 4-5 minutes on the other.
6. If the diameter of the skillet is smaller, you do not need a plate to rotate the lazy khachapuri.
