Lazy gnocchi instead of varenyky: what to make a simple dish with

If you really want delicious homemade varenyky but don't have much time to make them, you can make potato gnocchi. You don't need to cut out circles of the same shape and then form them, it's much easier. It is enough to simply form balls from the dough and roll them with a fork.

The idea of making potato gnocchi instead of varenyky was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Tetyana (tania_sheremet).

Ingredients:

  • potatoes in their skin - 2 pcs.
  • eggs - 1 pc.
  • flour - 150 g
  • mushrooms - 100 g
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • cream - 150 ml (20%)
  • a small bunch of parsley
  • salt and pepper - to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Grate the potatoes in their skin on a coarse grater, add the egg, salt, pepper, flour, and knead the dough.

2. Roll out and cut into equal parts. Form balls.

3. Take a fork and roll the gnocchi with it.

4. Make the sauce: chop the garlic and mushrooms. Pour oil into a pan, add garlic and mushrooms, fry until golden brown, season with salt and pepper, and pour in cream.

5. Put the gnocchi in boiling water and cook for 3 minutes.

6. Combine the cooked gnocchi with the sauce and add parsley.
