Instead of a pie: the most delicious apple pita bread strudel in 15 minutes
For breakfast or as a dessert for tea, apple strudel is an ideal option. It can be made without dough by replacing the base with pita bread. It has a very juicy filling and a delicate crispy crust. The strudel takes only 15-20 minutes to bake in the oven.
Food blogger Iryna Burdiuh (irina_burdyug) shared a recipe for apple strudel made from pita bread on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- pita bread
- apples
- cinnamon
- vanilla sugar
- egg yolk (for greasing)
Method of preparation:
1. Apples grate on a grater.
2. Add cinnamon and vanilla sugar to the apples. Mix well.
3. Spread the apple filling evenly over the pita bread sheet. Wrap it in a roll.
4. Put the strudels on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
