Hutsul banosh in 30 minutes: how to cook a hearty dish
Banosh is a traditional Ukrainian dish made from corn grits. It can be cooked with sour cream, milk, and even cream, and topped with bacon, cheese, or mushrooms.
Food blogger Tetiana Perchik (tanya.perchik) shared a recipe for banosh with milk and sour cream on her TikTok page, which you can easily prepare in 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
- corn grits - 100 g
- milk - 200 ml
- sour cream - 250 g
- water - 100 ml
- salt, pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Rinse the groats 2-3 times under running water beforehand.
2. Next, pour water into a saucepan, put it on the fire and bring to a boil.
3. When the water in the pot boils, add milk and sour cream, bring to a boil again over medium heat.
4. Pour the cereal into the boiling liquid, add salt and pepper. Stirring constantly with a spatula, cook the banosh until tender, until the porridge easily leaves the sides of the pan. It takes about 25-30 minutes.
5. Remove the finished banosh from the stove. Serve with cheese, bacon or mushrooms.
