People spend a lot of time in the supermarket in front of the avocado display. And that's because they simply don't know how to choose the right one. This knowledge is extremely important, because there are significant risks that you will notice at home that your avocado is still very green.

Blogger Sidney Raz shared on TikTok how to tell if an avocado is ripe. It turns out that you can do this without even peeling it.

To determine how ripe an avocado is, simply remove the small pit located on one of the edges. After that, you should look at the color of the flesh underneath. It is this color that determines the ripeness of the fruit.

If you see a dark green, almost emerald color, it means that the avocado is completely ready to eat. A slightly lighter shade indicates that the fruit will reach its peak ripeness within the next 1-2 days. And a light green tint under the pit should make you think about the advisability of buying such an avocado, because you should wait quite a long time for it to be ready for consumption.
