How to strengthen immunity: nutritionist calls to give up pork

Here is a list of foods that strengthen the immune system

The best way to strengthen immunity in the fall is to eat high-quality seasonal vegetables and fruits. It is recommended to avoid pork and sugar.

At the same time, the consumption of red meat and hot teas will help strengthen the immune system. Nutritionist Natalia Dubovyk told OBOZREVATEL about this in an exclusive commentary.

"In general, immunity is boosted by high-quality seasonal products. They stimulate our immune system," she explained.

The list of recommended foods from the nutritionist is as follows:

  • Ginger, lemon, and most ripe berries, such as sea buckthorn and cranberries.

"They can be used to make decoctions or hot teas," the nutritionist clarified.

Ms. Dubovyk also advised "not to add sugar, because it has a bad effect on our intestines, and as you know, 90% of our immunity is located in the intestines.

It is advisable to drink hot tea without sugar.
  • Red meat, such as veal. It should be eaten several times a week.

"I advise you to give up pork, because it is too fatty for our gastrointestinal tract," the nutritionist said.

  • Sauerkraut or beets, stewed and baked vegetables.
Braised cabbage helps to strengthen the immune system.
  • Foods with minimal heat treatment.

"For example, do not eat mashed potatoes with milk, butter, or spices. It is better to just bake them and thus preserve a large amount of vitamins in them," she clarified.

The information was verified by Dr. Viktor Lytvynenko.
