The dominance of flies in the kitchen in the summer is a fairly common problem because we often open windows in the hot season to freshen up the house. As it turns out, it's easy to deal with these annoying creatures.

The most elementary way to scare away flies is through smell. This was told by pest control expert Walter Murphy, writes Express. According to him, it is necessary to get rid of flies in the kitchen not only because they are annoying, but also because these insects can spread bacteria such as salmonella, typhoid fever, and E. coli.

How to get flies out of your kitchen without chemicals

Method 1. The first scent the expert recommended is essential oils, such as lemongrass or mint. They contain a substance that repels flies (toxic to insects but safe for humans).

Essential oils are a great way to get rid of flies.

Method 2. Cinnamon. As it turned out, a common spice can get rid of flies in the kitchen. All you have to do is light cinnamon candles and there won't be a single insect left in the room.

Cinnamon also helps fight flies.

Method 3. Vodka. "Flies can't stand the smell of vodka, so you can use a spray that contains it," Murphy explained.

Method 4. Apple cider vinegar. You can use it to set a real trap for flies: pour the substance into a jar and wait. The smell will attract flies and they will fly into the jar and taste the liquid. As a result, they will drink the solution and stay in the jar.
