How to prepare pearl barley quickly and deliciously
Barley is considered one of the most budget-friendly cereals. But despite its low price, this porridge has a specific taste and preparation, although it is very healthy. It takes a long time to cook and can turn out to be bland. But one simple technology can fix this. This method will make the groats crumbly, flavorful and delicious.

Ingredients:
- barley - 150 g
- water - 450 ml
- onion - 1 pc.
- carrot - 1 pc.
- chicken meat (legs) - 4 pcs.
- bell pepper - optional
- salt, pepper
- fresh garlic or granulated
- bay leaf
- vegetable oil
Method of preparation:
1. Rinse the barley and soak it (can be done overnight).
2. Pour 450 ml of clean wate over and put on low heat under the lid for 1 hour.
3. If the surface is not non-stick, stir a little. Do not use an enamel pot.
4. During this time, peel and wash the vegetables.
5. Cut the onion into medium cubes.
6. Cut the carrots into strips.
7. Pour oil into the frying pan. Roast the vegetabl until golden brown and add the meat.
8. When a crust appears, reduce the heat.
9. Cover and cook for a while longer.
10. Add salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
11. Add all the ingredients from the frying pan to the cooked porridge (there may still be some water in it). Simmer for a while over low heat, stirring.
