How to prepare barley deliciously: an unexpected recipe
Many people have unpleasant associations with barley groats since kindergarten or camp. However, this situation can be easily fixed by knowing how to successfully combine the product in different dishes. One of them is barley cutlets with vegetables and herbs. It turns out to be very satisfying, nutritious and tasty.
Food blogger Kateryna (gutkakatya) shared a recipe for barley cutlets on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- barley porridge - 2 tbsp
- carrots - 1 pc
- onions - 1/2 pc
- celery root - 1/4 pc
- eggs - 2 pcs
- chopped greens - 2-3 tbsp
- salt, pepper - to taste
- whole wheat flour for breading
- oil for frying
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the groats and cool completely.
2. Chop the onion.
3. Grate carrots and celery on a coarse grater.
4. Fry all the vegetables in vegetable oil.
5. Mix the porridge, fried vegetables, chopped herbs and eggs in a bowl. Add salt and pepper.
6. Form small patties with wet hands.
7. Roll the cutlets in flour and fry.
8. Put the finished cutlets on a paper towel.
