How to make whole grain bread at home: an easy recipe

Whole grain bread is the healthiest because it is based on high quality flour. Therefore, this pastry is low-calorie and diet. It is best to make this bread at home so that you can be sure of its quality.

The idea of making this bread was shared by the famous Ukrainian chef Tetiana Lytvynova (tanita_litvinova) on her Instagram page.

Recipe for whole grain homemade bread.

Ingredients:

  • whole wheat flour - 400 g
  • warm water - 300 ml
  • yeast - 12 g pressed (or 4 g dry)
  • honey - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
Making starter.

Method of preparation:

1. Add yeast, honey, and salt to a bowl of warm water and dissolve completely.

2. Add sifted flour and knead the dough.

3. Put the dough in the fridge for 1.5 hours, greasing it with oil.

4. Cover the bowl with cling film or a lid.

Perfect bread dough consistency.

5. Take out the dough and knead it 7-8 times.

6. Form a round bread and sprinkle with flour.

7. Make patterns with a sharp knife.

8. Let stand, covered with a large bowl, for 1 hour.

Cut out patterns.

9. Bake in a preheated oven to 200 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

10. Take the bread out and let it cool on a wire rack.
