How to make the perfect pie dough: a recipe from the chef

Pies are a symbol of home comfort and warmth. Housewives always cook them with love and care, trying to make each pie perfect.

But this will not work if the dough is not prepared correctly. To avoid spoiling the dish and wasting time, we recommend following the advice of food blogger Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi. On Instagram, he explained how to prepare the dough for pies so that they turn out perfect in the end.

Ingredients

  • Milk – 400 ml
  • Eggs – 40 gr
  • Sugar – 50 gr
  • Fresh yeast – 25-30 g
  • Butter – 75 gr
  • Oil – 75 ml
  • Flour – 660-700 grams
  • Salt – 6 grams

Method of preparation

1. Add sugar, egg, and yeast mixed with a fork to warm milk. Stir, cover with a towel and leave for 15 minutes. When the yeast becomes active, foam will appear on the surface.

2. Gradually add the flour mixed with salt and mix.

3. Leave the dough in a bowl, under a film or towel in a warm place for one hour. Keep an eye on the dough, if it comes up quickly, proceed to the next step.

4. Separately, heat the butter and oil in a saucepan until warm.

5. Stir the butter into the dough in a bowl, and then knead the dough well with your hands on the table, return it to the bowl under the film for another 30 minutes in a warm place.

6. Divide the finished dough into 26 pieces of 50 grams each.

7. Roll up the dough "balls" and flatten them with the palm of your hand. Put the filling on top to taste.

8. Form the products, roll them up like a dumpling, seal the edges, and put them with the seam down.

9. Let stand in a warm place under a towel for 40 minutes.

10. Brush with egg and bake at 200 -210 degrees for 10-11 minutes.
