How to make fluffy homemade buns: you need one simple ingredient

Homemade sweet rolls are the perfect pastry for the fall season. They can be eaten with warm milk, tea, cocoa, or coffee to keep you warm in cooler weather. To make the texture of the dough fluffy, add baked pumpkin, which is in full season.

The idea of making fluffy homemade pumpkin buns was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Daria Dariko (recepti_dariko).

Ingredients:

  • pumpkin - 300 g
  • warm milk - 300 g
  • sugar - 100 g
  • dry yeast - 10 g
  • butter - 50 g
  • flour - 600-700 g
  • salt - 1 tsp + a pinch of pumpkin salt
  • egg yolk for greasing

Method of preparation:

1. Wash, peel, and dice the pumpkin. Put it on a baking sheet, add salt, and bake in a preheated 180-degree oven for 30 minutes. Mash the baked pumpkin with a fork and cool.

2. Knead the dough: add sugar, yeast, and a little flour to warm milk, and mix. Add the cooled mashed potatoes and melted butter, and mix. Pour in flour and salt and knead the dough. Keep the dough warm for 1 hour.

3. Divide the finished dough into 20 pieces, roll them into balls, place them on a baking sheet, and set aside for 30 minutes.

4. Brush the buns with egg yolk and bake in a 180-degree oven for 40 minutes.
