How to make cream cheese from kefir: the easiest way
Cream cheese is a versatile ingredient that can be combined in many dishes: rolls, appetizers, and even pancakes. This product is extremely easy to make at home from just one ingredient – kefir. As a result, it will be very difficult to distinguish the finished homemade cream cheese from the purchased one.
Food blogger Khrystyna Kei (kristinakey.blog) shared a recipe for cream cheese on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- kefir – 1 liter
- salt – to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Leave the kefir in the freezer for at least 8 hours.
2. Then put a colander in a deep bowl. Cover it with a towel.
3. Take the frozen kefir out of the carton and wrap it in a towel. Leave at room temperature for at least 12 hours.
4. When all the whey has drained, put the cheese in a bowl, add salt, and beat with a blender until smooth.
