Homegrown apples, especially when sliced, can turn dark. As a result, the fruit becomes unappetizing, spoils, and goes into the trash.

But to prevent this from happening, you need to use one simple life hack. The tip was published by the American publication Greatist.

To prevent sliced apples from darkening for a long time, put the slices in a bag and sprinkle them with lemon juice. Instead of juice, you can also use a mixture of water and honey. This will slow down the oxidation process and keep the fruit fresh.
