But there are many fillings for pita bread that can be delicious and very healthy, the main thing is to choose the right ingredients.
Famous Ukrainian nutritionist Svitlana Fus has posted a variety of low-calorie pita bread fillings on her Instagram page.
The expert notes that the choice of filling is limited only by calorie content. Otherwise, how to fill pita bread depends on individual taste preferences.
- Low-fat cottage cheese + herbs + garlic.
- Chicken + lettuce + tomato + Greek yogurt + Dijon mustard. ⠀
- Lightly salted salmon + fresh cucumber + herbs, + a few drops of lemon juice.
- Canned tuna in its own juice + lettuce leaves + fresh cucumber + tomato + bell pepper.
- Cream cheese (low-fat) + boiled peeled shrimp + clove of garlic⠀
- Cottage cheese + banana (in the oven for 5-10 minutes)⠀
The following ingredients are ideal for dietary fillings in pita bread:
- boiled chicken or turkey fillet;⠀
- low-fat hard cheeses; ⠀
- yogurts without additives
- low-fat cottage cheese
- fried mushrooms;⠀
- vegetables
- any greens;⠀
- seafood (including seafood cocktail);⠀
- fish (especially fillets from low-fat varieties)
