How to cook real Ukrainian shpundra: an authentic recipe
Shpundra is a traditional Ukrainian dish made from pork and beets. You simply have to try it at least once in your life, because it is simply impossible to describe the taste sensations that arise during consumption.

Ingredients
- Beetroot - 1 kg
- Pork - 700-800 gr
- Lard - 100 gr
- Onions - 2 pcs
- Garlic - a few cloves
- Tomato paste - 1 tbsp
- Flour - for rolling
- Salt
- Pepper
- Beetroot kvass - 800 ml
Method of preparation
1. Cut the meat into slices and roll in flour. Fry until golden brown.
2. Add onion and garlic - fry until golden brown, stirring constantly.
3. Add salt and pepper, then add the beets. Stew until half cooked.
4. Add the tomato paste, pour in the beet kvass. Simmer under the lid until the beets are fully cooked.
5. The dish should be viscous; if you have too much liquid, open the lid periodically to evaporate the moisture.
