Potato pancakes [derunes] are one of the favorite dishes of Ukrainians. They can be served for breakfast or lunch by adding sour cream, yogurt, and other products to taste. In addition, they are made from readily available products, and the process does not take much time.

Food blogger Olenka Kudryavtseva recently shared on Instagram how she makes pancakes. It turns out that this dish can be prepared in such a way that it does not turn gray.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 600-700 gr
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Eggs - 2 pcs
  • Flour - 3 tbsp
  • Onions\garlic\carrots to taste

How to cook

1.Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater.

2. Pour cold water over the potatoes and rinse well to remove all the starch. It should settle at the bottom of the bowl with water.

3. Squeeze the potatoes from the excess liquid.

4. Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.

5. Put the pancakes on a hot frying pan with oil and fry on both sides until golden brown.

6. Serve with sour cream.
